Restoration of Status in Canada
If you have lost your status in Canada due to certain reasons, you may be eligible to restore it by applying within 90 days of losing your status.
To qualify for restoration of status, you must meet certain eligibility requirements:

- Meet the initial requirements for your stay in Canada.
- Remain in Canada until a decision is made on your restoration application.
- Have not failed to comply with any condition imposed by an officer, except for specific conditions related to:
⮞ The type of work, employer, and location of work permitted.
⮞ The period authorized for your stay.
⮞ The type of studies or course, educational institution, and location of studies permitted.
⮞ Not be the subject of a declaration under subsection A22.1(1).
Restore Visitor Status Canada
Foreign nationals seeking restoration have forfeited their status and permission to work or study. They are not permitted to engage in work or attend school until their status and authorization have been reinstated, and a new work or study permit has been issued.
