Application Process
The application process for the NWT Nominee Program Business Stream involves several stages:
Stage One:
- Develop a Working Business Concept: Candidates must assess their eligibility and develop a viable business concept that aligns with the economic needs of the NWT.
- Registration: Candidates must register for an NTNP account online and submit their initial registration to begin developing their business concept.
- Exploratory Visit and Interview: Candidates must visit the NWT and participate in an interview with NTNP staff, during which they present their business concept.
- Application and Review: Candidates submit a formal application to the NTNP and provide all required supporting documents within the specified timeframe.
- Business Performance Agreement (BPA): Upon acceptance, candidates work with NTNP representatives to develop a Business Performance Agreement based on their business plan.
Stage Two:
- Applying for a Temporary Work Permit: Candidates receive a letter of support from NTNP to apply for a two-year work permit from the Government of Canada.
- Post-Landing Process: Candidates must arrive in Canada, submit an arrival report within 60 days, and develop their business as per the terms of the BPA.
Receiving a Nomination for Permanent - Residence: Candidates submit a final report after operating their business for a minimum of twelve months, demonstrating compliance with the BPA.
- Applying for Permanent Residence: Candidates use the nomination certificate to apply for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
