Entrepreneur Immigration (EI Stream)
- Base stream: Base Program is for individuals who wish to establish or purchase and manage a business in British Columbia (BC). The program requires a personal net worth of at least CAD$600,000, business and/or management experience, basic English or French language skills, and eligibility for legal immigration status in Canada. Business requirements include making an eligible personal investment of at least CAD$200,000, creating at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and establishing an eligible new business or improving an existing one.The process involves preparing a business proposal, registering it with the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), obtaining a work permit, building and managing the business in BC, obtaining BC PNP nomination, and applying for permanent residence.
- Regional Pilot: The Regional Pilot stream encourages entrepreneurs to start new businesses in smaller communities across BC. Requirements include establishing an eligible new business aligned with the priorities of the referring community, showing business and/or management experience, having a personal net worth of at least CAD$300,000, making an eligible personal investment of at least CAD$100,000, and creating at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Strategic Projects: The Strategic Projects stream is for foreign corporations looking to invest in BC and establish operations integral to their core business. Eligibility criteria include being well-established and in good financial standing, demonstrating investment readiness and capacity for international expansion into BC, and providing significant economic benefit to the province. Key staff members must also meet specific eligibility criteria.
The application process involves making an exploratory visit to BC, discussing the proposal with the BC PNP, registering the company’s interest to apply, receiving an invitation to apply, submitting a full application, signing performance agreements, obtaining work permits, establishing the business, and applying for permanent residence.

- The job offer must have a duration of at least one year (365 days).
- There must be a minimum of 120 calendar days remaining on the job offer at the time of application.
